Elsie Service

Elsie became a member of Rotary in 2014 and remains proud to be a member. She joined Rotary because she wanted to help ensure a supply of clean drinking water  in the village where she grew up.  She was born in a small village in the Philippines and since becoming a member in the Rotary Club of Commack-Kings Park, she was able to connect Rotary District 3850 (the Philippines) and having our club partner with their region in setting up an International Global Grant for a Water and Sanitation Project in the Philippines.  Still in the works, this project has now spread to include a Literacy project in helping maintain a local school and library for the village and a Hygiene project, providing soap and other toiletries to the school and making sure all children are taught proper hygiene.  Elsie is a past Secretary of our club.
